USTA Junior Team Tennis
Colorado Junior Team Tennis
In Colorado Junior Team Tennis, the team concept emphasizes fun, fitness, and friends.
The focus in this kind of play is on enjoying the exhilaration of exercise and
refining the skills that make tennis fun for players at all ages and levels of
competition.
Junior Team Tennis is a 6 to 8 week program of team practice and match play for
boys and girls, ages 8 to 18, who want to play tennis on teams. The age division
cut-off is the age of the player as of August 11, 2013. Teams are comprised of
players of similar gender, age, and skill, and they compete against other teams
from the same geographic region in one of four age divisions: 10 & under, 12 &
under, 14 & under or 18 & under. Within these age divisions, there is a level
for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players. The format for Junior Team
Tennis is 2 singles matches and 1 doubles match. The team winning the most GAMES
wins the team match.
A USTA MEMBERSHIP IS NOT REQUIRED; however,
membership
to the USTA has many benefits
for players of all ages.
League registration begins March 1, 2013. Contact a tennis facility near you to
sign up. To learn more about starting your own team or if you have any
questions, please email
Dan Lewis
or call 303/695-4116 x207.
